LA Bikemap

We want to visually document what's both good and bad about riding bikes in Los Angeles. Cyclists would - submit unique Locations (bike friendly businesses, hidden local gems like late-night taco trucks, co-working spaces, etc), - share Paths such as crosstown bikeways, shortcut streets to avoid traffic, - add Incidents like driver harassment, crashes, bike theft, etc. In the next two days, we want to get a simple and cleanly designed submission form to make it easy to engage users to contribute visuals + data. Im working with this site, http://www.mapillary.com. We aim to crowdsource street view of the the world and all of our images are shared with an open license cc-by-sa. I think this could be a good platform to build the visual part of the bike map on. I would be happy to help out to help you integrate this. Let me know what you guys think.

Yes, we’d like some of that Waze functionality. But since it’s bike-focused, the map would be more granular, because we expect cyclists to (for example) make more stops, stops and patronize and write about local businesses. Submitted media (photos, video) would be more personal than a simple traffic report.
